Need some advice? Who doesn’t? Facing an unexpected pregnancy is overwhelming. On top of that, who do you talk to about it? Although it’s such a private issue, abortion advice is something many women find helpful during this uncertain time. We hope these tips will help you sort a few things out.

Educate yourself

              The first thing we always encourage our patients to do is to educate themselves. When considering abortion, keep in mind, this is a huge decision, and it should not be rushed. Rushing into any decision can do more damage than good. Find out what ALL your options are before you choose one. Find out what types of abortions are offered at what weeks. There is a lot to be learned, but we do not want you to feel overwhelmed, which is why we provide all the information you need during your first appointment.

Make sure you are aware of abortion legislation in your state

               For example, some states require you to have an ultrasound before an abortion procedure. We can provide the information for you here, OR you can come in and have an ultrasound done.  Why would you want an ultrasound? Great question! Because what many women don’t know is
one in four pregnancies end in a miscarriage. If you have an ultrasound done, our sonographer can determine if your pregnancy is viable. If your pregnancy is not viable, you won’t need an abortion. You could potentially save yourself hundreds of dollars by getting an ultrasound first. And guess what? We offer ultrasounds too!

Remove as much financial stress as possible

               You probably just read that and thought… But how?! We are glad you asked. All our services, from talking to a counselor to getting an ultrasound, are 100% free. Since we are a non-profit organization and are funded through generous members in our community, we can offer our services free of charge! Since we do not benefit from any decision you make, you can also have peace knowing your decision was, in fact, your decision.

Our last advice is this: Remember, you are not alone.

               Many of our staff have experienced an unexpected pregnancy. We know how it feels to be in this predicament, which is why we offer our services free. We have a deep desire to help you through this. You may feel alone, but know you have a whole team of individuals behind you.
